Barcode lookup

Type the number printed under a product barcode to open its nutrition facts. The lookup searches the GTIN/UPC field of the USDA Branded Foods dataset and opens the product page when there is an exact match.

Accepts 8 to 14 digits (GTIN-8, UPC-A, EAN-13 or GTIN-14). Spaces and hyphens are ignored; leading zeros are kept.

What to expect

Branded product records are supplied to the USDA by manufacturers and distributors. Not every product sold today is present, and a product can change its recipe after its record was published. The product page shows the record’s modification date and its source.

Privacy

When the camera scanner is available in your browser, frames are analyzed on your device and are never uploaded or stored. The camera starts only after you press “Scan barcode” and stops as soon as a code is read or you stop it.
